Just when summer is about to end, Mister Sun finally humored everybody :) Last Tuesday, the sun shone brightly for the first time after a wet and dreary August...In fact, as of this writing, the weather is still so beautiful that most of our colleagues decided to take a day off to make the most out of it. "Hi colleagues, due to the lovely weather we have today I will not be reporting for work. It's too good to be inside the office"... And that is not a joke.Did I not tell you that weather(and leisure) is a big deal here? He3x. Golly, I do love Holland,Europe!
Anyway, we also enjoyed the fine weather ourselves last weekend, and took the famous Binnendieze boat tour in the city of 's-Hertogenbosch together with Harold and another visiting test engineer from Philips (or NXP?).
By The Binnendieze
The Binnendieze, the historical town river of 's-Hertogenbosch once spanned 22 kilometers. Now it is some sort of a canal system under the old city...It starts out as a regular river from Belgium, where it is called The Dommel. Then it enters the city by passing through openings in the "city walls", and then it is called The Binnendieze.

Just a handful of the crowd, waiting for their turn
There were 16 of us on the boat, including 4 Spanish tourists. The tour guides are city volunteers, dedicating their efforts in showing the beauty of their city.
We went underneath old buildings and houses, tunnels (which gave me an eerie feeling, since it was pitch-dark!), under a Gothic church, and beautiful archways and bridges...

underneath the houses...
tunnels...
A gothic church, built over the water, stately rises above us...
The boat tour nearly finishes its course in the Maas River...Here you will see the old city ramparts which still almost completely currounds the city...
Outside the city...
the old city ramparts...
hubs...always,always in a pensive mood...hehehe
Tuwang-tuwa...

Pasimple kuno...

on our way back...

Pasimple kuno...
Through an opening in the city walls, passing heavy wooden sluice doors, we entered the city again into an oasis with tall trees...

on our way back...

It was nice touring the city at a totally different angle...
"Oh, it's a long, long while from May to December
But the days grow short when you reach September
When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame
One hasn't got time for the waiting game
Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few
September, November
And these few precious days I'll spend with you
These precious days I'll spend with you"
-Frank Sinatra
