Old Year's Eve

Different cultures really have different ways of looking at things...In Holland, the 31st of December is being celebrated as "OUDE JAAR'S DAG" or OLD YEAR'S DAY. So it's OLD YEAR'S EVE for the Dutch and not as the NEW YEAR'S EVE in most cultures...But whatever you call it, the cause for celebration is still the same. Thanksgiving for the year that has passed, and ushering the coming of a new year with hopes and prayers for a prosperous one...And yes, just like in most countries, they too have splendid f-i-r-e-w-o-r-k-s!Really awesome!

Me and hubs were more than happy and thankful despite our being away from our families this time of year...
And with our truffle cake (Den Otter has the best truffle cake!The perfect melange of the bitter and sweet!I could finish one whole cake in one sitting,really!), bacardis and our favorite spaghetti, we were in high spirits in welcoming the year of the pig :)
