Well, all in a day's work for a test engineer...
Anyway, I was so amused by Rey's story, that our resident engineer (Indian), was very impressed that he knew a lot of people (Filipinos!) at the test subcon... and actually, in Singapore in general. The moment he arrived at the facility, our good-old-friend Mr. "Nonoy" Rigs (sikat ka na gid ya Noy sa blog ko ya!) gave the warmest welcome at the lobby. Then just 5 minutes later, they bumped into a couple of ex-colleagues from ADI... and then shortly afterwards, some more familiar faces, this time from PSC(now NXP). While working at the test floor, two of the line engineers were also Ilonggo... one was even a Bosconian. More friends: ex-colleagues, college and high school contemporaries dropped by from time-to-time. Thus, after-work engagements had to be scheduled so Rey could meet up with all of these friends and catch up. In fact, there was even not enough time to accommodate all the engagements after work, so some would just pick him up during lunch time. What a treat!
I recall our counterpart was at first concerned that Rey was hesitant to go to there that he even sent me an SMS assuring me that they will take care of him. It was a nice gesture, but we were not worried at all, as we knew beforehand that there were indeed a lot of our friends that were based in Singapore.
It was actually the project that we were quite anxious about, due to the very aggressive timeline set by the customers. But as they say, all work and no play...
