Colleagues have told us about this place;teachers at the language institute;taxi drivers; hmmm, almost everyone. Dusseldorf is famed for being a "city of wealth"; a city which offers a colorful synergy of art and luxury, vivacity and fun! Also other than being renowned for its upscale shopping, it's also one of the centers for the annual "Kerstmarket" (Christmas Market) in Europe.
So, we decided to visit this city in time for Christmas, to check out their "kertsmis" spirit (no dilly-dally this time) But too bad, Mister Sun was not in cohort with us...Boohoo...
2 hours on the train? no problem with a PSP and some great games along for the ride :)

"We are finally here!"
It was a "quick" 2-hour ride on the German ICE (high speed train w/ ave. speed of 200kph), so when we got to Dusseldorf,we were famished. But thank heavens for Pizza Hut... comfort food!!! He3x... But then, I should never have had that sour cream dip... I have a history with "Mc Donald's Rush", now it's at Burger King. I have great stories with fast food chains... hahaha... to those who know me well, you know what this means... F7?

Though raining, we still had a great time strolling at the market;getting a glimpse of their holiday spirit;people in jolly and festive mood...sipping their hot coco, or queuing for their "bratwurst", or watching a Gepetto carve a wooden toy...Most of them go to these markets, to look for unique presents (usually handmade or specialty items) as it's the thrill of finding a "one-of-a-kind" gift that prompts them to search every nook :)

You can't leave Dusseldorf without having done some shopping along the Königsallee. It's one of the things people would ask us when we go back: Did you see the 'Kö'? Every high-end designer label can be found there somewhere. But, "PRADA?WHAT THE DEVIL?" he3x...So it really was just window-shopping, but...

It was a wet and dreary Saturday but somehow we managed to make the most out of it and had a nice time :) After all, each travel experience enriches you :) And one learning, no, more like a confirmation, even in a country of milk and cheese, I'm still lactose-intolerant! HA-HA-HA!
